APPLICATION PROCESS

Thank you for your interest in the Dayton Regional STEM School for the 2021-22 school year! Please read through the information below carefully before beginning starting your application. Questions? Contact info@daytonstemschool.org.

Student Requirements for Admission:

  • Student is a current resident of the Miami Valley Region (or will be following a relocation)

  • Student is not under suspension/expulsion from resident district or current attending school

  • Student is drug free

  • For students entering 9th grade - student must be NOT OLDER than 15 by September 1, 2021

  • At the end of the 2020-2021 school year, student will be recommended for advancement to the next grade level

The application includes two parts:

PART ONE - Online Application

PART TWO - Supplemental Application (available after Part One is submitted)

The New Student Application for the 2021-22 school year will be available in December 2020 and due in March (date TBD).

We typically accept students in grades 6-9 each year, with the goal of having approximately 100 students per grade level.

If we receive more completed applications than we have spaces available, acceptance will be determined via a lottery. Previous academic achievement, standardized test scores, and other information will NOT be used to determine acceptance. This information is collected in order to learn more about our application pool and to have on file once a student is accepted. Students that are not accepted during the initial lottery round will be placed in a waiting lottery pool. 

Notification (of both acceptance and wait list status) will be provided to parents in mid-April. You will be notified via email to let you know if your student was accepted or placed on a wait list. If accepted, you will receive an acceptance letter with a confirmation reply date. If we do not hear from you by that date, the seat will be forfeited to an applicant that is in the waiting lottery pool. Wait listed applicants will be notified of newly available seats on an on-going basis up to the first day of school.
