The Dayton Regional STEM School is committed to the health and well-being of every student, and our goal is to provide a safe and healthy environment for our school community. Our Health Services Director and School Nurse ensure that students receive minor treatment for simple concerns and provide maintenance care for chronic conditions. Our staff members manage health screenings and oversee your child's medical records.

Student Illness
When to stay home:
To create a safe environment, we ask parents and families to help us maximize when students are healthy and ready to learn together! Children should stay home if they have a fever of 100 or greater, vomiting (within 24hours), diarrhea (within 24 hours), a body rash with itching or fever, eye infection, head lice, or have been to the hospital.
When to return to school:
Students may return to school after being vomiting, diarrhea, and fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication. Students with other issues, such as rash, eye infection, or a hospital/emergency room visit, should receive a physician's clearance to return. At home, students must be treated for head lice and clinic staff will assess and clear them to return to the classroom.

COVID-19 Information
The current CDC guidelines for respiratory infections, including COVID-19 and Flu, can be found here.

Immunizations
With certain exceptions per DRSS Board policy, every student must meet Ohio’s Immunizations for School Attendance guidelines. If you wish to apply for an exception, families should submit a State of Ohio Legal Immunization Exemption form for each student.

Medical Forms
Medication forms are on Final Forms and on the Back-to-School Checklist webpage
